Hosting a third-party fundraiser is a great way to get your community involved in supporting RMHC families when they need it most.

Individuals, organizations, community groups, schools, and businesses play an important role in keeping families together. When you decide to become a Community Champion for RMHC Atlantic, you make a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of Maritime families who visit our Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms each year.

What are third-party fundraisers?

Third-party fundraisers are fundraising events or activities planned and executed by you – Community Champions can be individuals, businesses, or community groups who are passionate about volunteering their time to support RMHC Atlantic. You come up with the idea, and you make it happen!

How do they help?

We rely on the generosity of our community to fulfill our mission. By becoming a Community Champion and organizing a fundraising event or initiative for RMHC Atlantic, you’re helping increase awareness about RMHC Atlantic and our services, and you inspire your network to support an organization you’re passionate about.

Get inspired!

Pelletier Lemonade Stand

The Pelletier family from Bouctouche, New Brunswick, host an annual lemonade stand fundraiser to support RMHC Atlantic. Their event promotes community involvement and generates enthusiasm and a “giving attitude” amongst the families and businesses in their small town. They also help spread the word about RMHC Atlantic’s services to their community. In 2021, their lemonade stand raised an incredible $3,314.50!

Willowbrae Academy

Willowbrae Academy believes in giving back to the community and invest in teaching young children the joy and power of giving. Each year, each academy hosts two fundraisers for their local RMHC Chapter, including a PJ Walk For Kids fundraiser in June and a pancake breakfast in November. In 2022, HRM’s Willowbrae Academies (Timberlea, Burnside, and Hammonds Plains raised $2,905 through donations from staff, families, and the community.

Adam’s Tip to Tip Run

In May 2022, Adam Clark ran across PEI from tip to tip in honour of his godson and nephew, Austin, and in support of RMHC Atlantic. His participation in another run for charity showed him the impact he could has as a community fundraiser, and inspired him to run in support of RMHC Atlantic. Adam exceeded his $10,000 goal with the support of Islanders and Maritimers alike. To learn more about his fundraiser check out this article from CTV News Atlantic
